Thursday 2nd October - walks **** – Falkennham circuit – mainly cloudy.

Mag went on her daily sunrise walk but I gave it a miss today, I had onne eye onn the wind today as it was supposed to build at midday. Breakfast and exercises in the garden in hazy sunshine so quite pleasant, Mag continues to sort out her plants, with exercises done and the wind still fairly light I prepare the evening meal, yummy roast chicken, I then pack a picnic and we leave home around one with the aim of visiting ‘Emily’ at Falkenham church but we get to the end of the lane leading to the church to find a road closure sign, so change of plan, we park down the lane leading to Kings Fleet to park. We then walk down the farm track and have our picnic by the fishing lake watching the swans glide by! After enjoying the peace and quiet by the water we decide to take the longer route back by continuing down the the River Deben, past the water ski jetty, a little shorter now and take the foot=ath inland to Falkenham, it was hard at the end with my heel hurting and were pleased to reach the van after walking four and a half miles! Storm Amy fast approaching bringing a spell of wet and windy weather, no sailing tomorrow as we are having Maeva early, maybe too windy on Saturday but Sunday is looking promising, fingers crossed!

PS – the highlight of the walk was spotting several avocets in the mud!
